Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Softball team knew that they were in the post-season the last week, but were only waiting for where they'd be. They found out Saturday morning, when the Owls were granted the #14 seed in the California Community College Athletic Association Regional Playoffs. That pits Citrus against #3 Cypress College starting next weekend.

The Owls went 24-12 during the regular season and finished second in the Western State Conference Blue Division. It's Citrus' fourth straight trip to the post-season and the seventh time in the last eight years.

Cypress College (33-7) is fresh off a co-championship with #1 Riverside City College in the Orange Empire Conference Championship. The Chargers have won the CCCAA State Championships three years running.

This is the second time in three years when the Owls and Chargers have squared off in the post-season. The two schools went head to head in the first round of the 2011 CCCAA Playoffs. Cypress knocked Citrus out of the post-season that year in three games.

The playoff match-up starts next Saturday at Cypress College with game two and game three (if necessary) scheduled for Sunday.
