Owls Close Out Season With Win
Santa Monica, CA (Women's Basketball) -- The Citrus College Women's Basketball team closed out their 2011-2012 regular season on Saturday evening with a win at Santa Monica. The Owls got 20 points and 12 rebounds from sophomore Brianna Barfield as they cruised to a 16 point 57-41 win.
Barfield along with freshman Kenya Thomas, who came off the bench on Saturday night, did much of the offensive heave lifting for the Owls. Thomas scored 15 points and added five rebounds as the duo accounted for more than half of Citrus' points.
Despite the twosome dominating the offensive side of the ball for Citrus, the Owls got some help from a number of different contributors. Freshman Alexis Arnold had one of her best games to date with eight points and five rebounds, while fellow frosh Sarah Rebibo did everything but score with two points, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals.
With the win, Citrus season comes to a close with a 6-21 overall mark and 6-6 record in Western State Conference South Division play.
