Five Owls on All-Conference Team
Glendora, CA (Women's Basketball) -- Five Citrus College Women's Basketball players were named to the Western State Conference South Division All-Conference team. Leading the way were sophomore Brianna Barfield and freshman Kenya Thomas who were both 1st team selections.
Barfield picked up her second 1st team All-WSC South nod after earning the honors after the 2009-2010 season. Barfield led the Owls, averaging 14.8 points per game and was second on the team in rebounds, averaging 7.3 boards per contest. Barfield also led the Owls in assists, averaging 2.4 per contest.
Thomas picked up the recognition thanks to her freshman campaign in which she averaged 10.2 points per game and seven rebound a game. Thomas also shot a team best 40.3% from the field, and led the team in steals with 44 on the season.
Picking up All-WSC South Honorable Mention honors were sophomore's Jasmine Cox, Kristine Reyes, and Julia Tani. Cox averaged 7.4 points per game and led the team by grabbing an average of eight rebounds a contest. Reyes was a steady influence for the Owls, appearing in all 27 games, mostly of the bench, averaging 5.2 points per game. Last, but not least was Tani who sank a team high 43 three-pointers, and averaged 9.3 points a game.
