Oh Miss Wilson
Santa Monica, CA -- Citrus College freshman Jaelyn Wilson had her best game of the Western State Conference South Division on Wednesday night, and the result was the Owls' second straight win. Wilson went for 18 and 11, with seven of her eleven boards coming on the offensive glass as Citrus won 57-49.
The Owls were strong on the glass on Wednesday, crashing the boards to the tune of 38 total rebounds. Most impressive was Citrus' effort on the offensive side where they gathered in 15 total offensive rebounds. In addition to Wilson's seven offensive rebounds, sophomore Nicole Zugasti reeled in three of her nine total rebounds on the offensive side, while freshman Natalie Lam and sophomore Arianna Caffey both came up with a pair of offensive boards each. Lam continued to play well for Citrus, notching 19 points, while sophomore Sarah Rebibo added nine points, six rebounds, and four assists.
With the win, Citrus improves to 13-9 on the year and 2-4 in WSC South play. The Owls will kick off the second half of WSC South play this Saturday when they head up the 210 freeway to take on Glendale College for the rubber match with the Vaqueros. Citrus took the first meeting between the two schools on a neutral floor, with the Vaqueros exacting revenge in the Owls' Nest in overtime earlier in the month. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
