The Volleyball Blog: Not Going Down Without a Fight

Throughout the 2012 CCCAA Volleyball playoffs, Citrus College sophomore Kassidy Greenberg will be blogging about the experience for CitrusOwls.com. Today's installment is the first of the Volleyball Blog.

Citrus Volleyball hasn't been to the playoffs in six years, and knowing that I'm one of the six sophomores leading this team to playoffs is unbelievable. Two years of hard work and dedication has paid off. Coming in as freshman last year we all had the same goal. We wanted to be the first team in five years to go to playoffs because we knew we could do it, and it was disappointing last year when we didn't make it.

That disappointment made us work even harder and get mentally stronger; starting in spring and working out with Coach Tam [Citrus College Women's Basketball Coach Tamara McDonald] wasn't easy but I can honestly say she has pushed us in ways we never knew we could be pushed. Knowing that there were coaches, fans, and our parents behind us 100% has made us have the heart and will power to fight our way through conference and into playoffs this year.

Being the first team to go to playoffs in such a long time is more than unbelievable, it's unreal, we are proud of ourselves and all the hard work by not only us, but by our coach to. The six sophomores have put two hard years into this program and we've grown so much in the last year we will put everything on the line to go further than just the first round. We are here and we're not going down without a fight. We are ready for whatever is thrown at us.
