Citrus College will celebrate its 63rd Annual Student Achievement Awards on Thursday, May 21 at 6 p.m. inside the Haugh Performing Arts Center. The annual event recognizes outstanding student achievement in academics, athletics, and leadership throughout the 2025–26 academic year. Honorees include the Service Leader of the Year, Key of Knowledge recipients, Distinguished Students and the Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

Softball's Alivia Martinez was named Female Athlete of the Year, while Men's Basketball's Leo Ricketts and Baseball's Cam Casado earned Co-Male Athlete of the Year honors.

Martinez capped one of the most decorated seasons in Citrus College softball history by batting .457 with 69 hits, a program-record 71 runs scored, 43 RBIs and 38 stolen bases while posting a .544 on-base percentage and .848 slugging percentage. Defensively, she totaled 101 putouts and nine assists with a .973 fielding percentage. Her standout sophomore campaign earned NFCA All-American, 3CFCA All-State, Academic All-State and WSC South First Team All-Conference honors, along with the NFCA Golden Shoe Award and a Rawlings Gold Glove Award. Martinez also became Citrus College's all-time leader in career at-bats (278), runs scored (112) and stolen bases (84), helping lead the Owls to a 28-15 record and their first 3C2A Southern California Regional Round One victory in more than a decade.

Ricketts starred in his lone season with the Owls after transferring from Sacramento State, averaging 19.7 points per game — ninth in the state — while adding 3.9 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals across 31 games. He shot 48.8% from the field, 47.5% from three-point range and 82.5% from the free-throw line while knocking down a team-high 115 three-pointers. Ricketts earned WSC South Most Outstanding Player honors, was named the CCCMBCA All-State South Player of the Year and earned a spot on the 2026 3C2A Men's Basketball Championship All-Tournament Team. He became the program's first CCCMBCA All-State South Player of the Year since 2012, helping lead Citrus to a 30-2 record, its best finish in 18 years, and a 3C2A State Championship Final Four appearance.

Casado put together a historic season for Citrus baseball, earning WSC South Position Player of the Year honors after leading the Owls with a .469 batting average, which ranked fourth in the state. He also totaled 14 home runs and 60 RBIs, both among the state leaders, while adding 69 hits, 42 runs scored, 15 doubles, 15 walks and 10 stolen bases. Defensively, Casado recorded 279 putouts and 12 assists, helped turn 21 double plays and posted a .997 fielding percentage. He became the first Citrus baseball player to earn conference Player of the Year honors since 2012.

Additional information and award recipients will be added to this release following Thursday's Student Achievement Awards ceremony.
