Six Owls Earn All-Conference Honors for Citrus Baseball
Six Citrus College Baseball Athletes were named to the 2025 Western State Conference-South All-Conference Team.
Luke Willison, a sophomore catcher from South Hills High School, headlined the group with a selection to the All-Conference First Team. Dustin Yela earned Second Team honors, while Jordan Quintero was named the Gold Glove winner at first base. Isaac Nava (3B), Danyal Jenkins (OF), and Derek Leader (OF) each received honorable mention recognition.
Willison was a force on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he led the Owls with a blistering .426 batting average (1st in conference), .824 slugging percentage (2nd), 10 home runs (3rd), 33 RBIs, 27 walks, and 12 stolen bases. Defensively, he posted a .965 fielding percentage, recorded 183 putouts, 11 assists, and threw out eight baserunners attempting to steal.
Yela, a freshman outfielder, impressed with a .378 average, 59 hits (5th in conference), 33 runs, 30 RBIs, 16 stolen bases, and 11 walks. In the outfield, he notched 74 putouts, three assists, and a .975 fielding percentage.
Quintero, a steady presence at first base from Whittier High School, earned the Conference's Gold Glove for his defensive excellence. He tallied 289 putouts, three assists, and helped turn 19 double plays with a .990 fielding percentage. At the plate, he drove in a team-high 37 RBIs (9th in conference), batting .288 with 44 hits, 21 walks, and one home run.
Freshman third baseman Isaac Nava contributed with 22 hits, 19 RBIs, 14 runs, 16 walks, and three stolen bases. He was reliable defensively, recording 47 assists, 19 putouts, and a .930 fielding percentage, while helping convert three double plays.
Jenkins, a speedy freshman outfielder from Calvert Hall College High School, finished second in the conference and fifth in the state with 30 stolen bases. He added 28 hits, 21 runs, 11 RBIs, and 14 walks, while batting .272. Defensively, he stood out with 90 putouts, one assist, and a near-perfect .989 fielding percentage.
Leader, a sophomore outfielder from Santa Fe Springs, batted .368 with 39 hits, 21 runs, 17 RBIs, 15 walks, and four stolen bases. His 11 doubles ranked 12th in the conference, and he was solid in the field with a .980 fielding percentage, 48 putouts, and one assist.
