Owls Survive Late Scramble By Wildcats
Culver City, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Basketball team rallied from Wednesday set back against Los Angeles Valley College to go on the road and defeat a tough West Los Angeles squad 75-72. The Owls saw a 12 points halftime lead evaporate late in the second half and survived a late scramble by the Wildcats to hold onto the win.
Citrus staked themselves to an early lead and went into the break up 46-34, matching a season high for points in the first half. In the second half though, the Owls let the Wildcats get back into the game, but ultimately held them at bay to grab the win. In the win, Citrus was led by freshman Chris Reyes who scored a game high 22 points, while grabbing a 14 rebounds. Freshman Steven Polee Jr. added 11.
With the win, Citrus improves to 11-6 overall and 4-2 in WSC South play. The Owls will take Wednesday off before starting the second half of WSC South play at Santa Monica College on Saturday at 5:00 PM.
