Five Owls Earn All-Conference, Lauer Gets 3rd Consecutive Coach of the Year
After the Owls earned their third consecutive Western State Conference-South Championship by going a perfect 14-0, five players were named All-Conference.
Owls' Head Coach Brett Lauer secured his third consecutive Conference Coach of the Year honor.
Tyler Isaak was named the Western State Conference-South Most Outstanding Player and picked up First-Team honors; KJ Perry and JJ Mitchell were also named to the All-Conference First-Team. Brady Cook and Blake Ballard earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.
Isaak started all 30 games he played in this past season. He averaged 18.6 points (2nd in conference), 5.8 rebounds (7th in conference), 2.3 assists, and 1.6 steals per game while shooting an impressive 56.4% from the field (3rd in conference) and 41.1% from three (also 3rd in conference).
Perry started all 32 games for the Owls this season, averaging 17.5 points (5th in conference), 2.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per contest. Perry connected on 53 three-pointers which was the 3rd most in conference this season.
JJ Mitchell started all 15 games he played in after returning from injury. Mitchell averaged 13.4 points, 7.3 rebounds (3rd in conference), 3.1 assists, 1.6 steals and 1 block per game while shooting 50% from the field. JJ's 8.1 career rebound average puts him 2nd All-Time in program history.
Cook appeared in 31 games for the Owls this past season, averaging 10.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1 steal per contest. Brady's 41% from beyond the arc was 4th best in conference, while his 41 made three-pointers was good for 9th most in conference. Cook shot 83.5% from the free throw line, going 86-of-103, which ranked 12th best in the conference.
Ballard appeared in all 32 games for Citrus, starting in 17 of those games while averaging 12.9 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. Ballard was an efficient scorer all season, shooting 52.7% from the field and 42.3% from three-point range (8th in conference). His 41 three-pointers tied him with teammate Brady Cook for 9th best in conference.
Coach Lauer led the Owls to their third consecutive Western State Conference-South Championship as the 2024-25 team went 14-0 in conference and took a 23-game win streak all the way to the 3C2A State Championship Semifinals. The 2024-25 Men's Basketball team set program records, averaging 102.6 points and 21.1 assists per game.
