Men's Soccer Drops Home Opener to Imperial Valley, 1-0

The Citrus College Men's Soccer team came up short in its home opener Tuesday evening, falling 1-0 to Imperial Valley College. The loss marks the Owls' first defeat of the season.

Citrus moves to 0-1-1 overall, while the Desert Warriors improve to 1-0.

Imperial Valley struck in the 31st minute, capitalizing on a rebound after an initial save by Owl goalkeeper AJ Baragan, giving the visitors the decisive 1-0 lead.

Despite generating seven shots, the Owls were unable to break through offensively. On the other end, Baragan (L, 0-1) delivered a strong performance in net, recording eight saves on nine shots on goal as Imperial Valley fired 19 total attempts.

Citrus will look to bounce back on Friday, August 29, when they host Cypress College at 3 p.m. in search of their first win of the season.
