Citrus College women's basketball defeated College of the Canyons 85–56 at home Saturday, February 7, securing its second win over the Cougars this season and improving to 9–15 overall and 6–4 in conference play.

After trailing 18–17 after the first quarter, the Owls outscored Canyons in the final three frames behind a career-high 30 points from Brianna Gomez and a rare triple-double from Jhavmine Ave—the first for the program since 2010. Citrus overcame an early 10-point Canyons lead, methodically took control, and built a game-high 29-point cushion late in the fourth, with no ties or lead changes after the opening period.

The Owls outshot Canyons 87–56 from the field (37.9 percent to 33.9 percent) and dominated from deep, hitting 15-of-39 threes to Canyons' 3-of-15. Citrus forced 23 turnovers while committing just seven—good for a 20–4 edge in points off turnovers—while holding slim margins in rebounds (49–45) and second-chance points (13–12).

Ave controlled the game with 28 points, 12 rebounds, 10 steals and two assists. Gomez added a game-high 30 points on 11-of-24 shooting with six 3s, five boards, and seven assists. Lexie Navarro scored 15 points (5-of-9 from deep) while adding four assists, Maileeh Suasti contributed seven points, eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. Setsianna Kraynak grabbed eight boards, and Samantha Martinez added four points and four rebounds off the bench. Cassandra Fortuna came in late in the fourth quarter and knocked down a three-pointer.

Up next, Citrus hosts Santa Monica College for a conference rematch Wednesday, February 11, at 7 p.m.—a team the Owls defated at home in January.
