Bio
Interim Head Coach Loree Moore begins her first season at the helm of the Owls, and her third season on the Citrus College Women’s Basketball bench. Moore came to the Owls after lengthy and decorated professional and collegiate career.
Moore began her playing career at Narbonne High School where she was a four year starter, helping lead Narbonne to two California State Championships and two USA Today National Championships. While at Narbonne, Moore started every single game over her four year playing career, leading the Gauchos to a 115-7 record in that span. When her high school playing days concluded, Moore was the State’s all-time leader in assists and steals in a career.
Upon graduating from high school, Moore attended and played for Hall of Fame Coach Pat Summitt at the University of Tennessee. Playing for the Lady Vols, Moore helped guide Tennessee to four straight Final Fours. When she finished playing, Moore ranked 10th all-time in Tennessee history in steals, and 6th all-time in assists per game.
When her collegiate career was over, Moore went on to play in the professional ranks. Moore spent five seasons in the WNBA playing for the New York Liberty, who drafted her with the 10th pick overall in the 2005 WNBA Draft. In 2007, she was named to the WNBA’s All-Defensive 2nd Team. Moore also played professionally for seven years in Turkey and four years in Russia. Moore has also left her mark on the international scene participating for Team USA in the 2003 Pan American Games, and in the 2000 and 2001 U.S. Junior World Championships.
A resident of Lakewood, Moore earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Tennessee in 2005. Moore is the daughter of Paulette Marlowe and has a brother Brian Hunter, who played nine seasons in Major League Baseball.
