Owls Are Runner-Up at WSC Santa Barbara

Results

Santa Barbara, CA – The Citrus College Women's Golf team resumed WSC play on Monday afternoon at the WSC Event hosted by Santa Barbara City College. The Owls were the runner-up, finishing behind first place Santa Barbara City College and in front of third place Antelope Valley College.

Freshman Alexandra Martinez put together her best round of the young season, carding a team leading 87. Her round was also the 9th lowest individual round by any golfer on the day. Just one stroke behind her was sophomore Lexi Tunstad who turned in an 88, putting her in a tie for 10th individually.

Freshman Bruna Prestes continued to show improvement out on the links recording a 95. Freshman Lauren Madueno was the fourth and final scoring round for the Owls with a 103.

The four rounds combined, put Citrus at 373 strokes on the day. The Owls were well behind first place SBCC, but beat third place AVC by over 40 strokes. The other four teams competing on the afternoon, failed to field a scoring team.

The Owls will be back in WSC action on Monday September 19th. Tee-time is set for 10:00 AM at Elkins Ranch Golf Course in Filmore for the WSC Canyons match.
