Citrus College Women's Soccer fell 2-0 on the road to San Bernardino Valley College on Friday night, September 19.
The loss moves the Owls to 2-3 overall, while the Wolverines improve to 4-3-1.
San Bernardino Valley struck first in the 21st minute to take a 1-0 lead. Despite generating five first-half shots, the Owls couldn't find the equalizer before the break.
In the second half, Citrus created three more chances but was unable to convert. The Wolverines, who tallied 11 shots after halftime, extended their advantage in the 78th minute to secure the 2-0 victory.
Sophomore forward Bridget Ward recorded two shots on goal, while Layla Serrato added another. Goalkeeper Liliana Miramontes stood tall in net, making nine saves on 11 shots faced.
The Owls return to action on Tuesday, September 23, when they travel to Pasadena City College for their final non-conference match, with kickoff set for 4 p.m. against the Lancers.
