Owls Continue Conference Competition at LA Valley College

Citrus College Swim competed at WSC Meet No. 2, hosted by Los Angeles Valley College, on Saturday, March 14 at the LAVC Aquatics Center.

The Owls' men's 400 medley relay team placed ninth overall with a time of 4:32.95.

In the women's 500 freestyle, freshman Meckenzie Aguilar recorded a time of 7:06.16. Aguilar also competed in the women's 100 IM, finishing 17th overall with a time of 1:24.99. She added another 17th-place finish in the women's 50 freestyle with a time of 30.97. Teammate Natalie Naranjo placed 23rd in the event with a time of 36.72, while Cadence Simental clocked 49.67.

In the men's 50 freestyle, Ethan Gregory posted a season-best time of 23.69 to place 10th overall. Trace Faskell finished 18th with a time of 26.12, while Iam Gregory and Sian Caceres recorded times of 28.62 (22nd) and 45.15 (26th), respectively.

In the men's 100 IM, Benjamin Johnston placed 24th overall with a time of 1:14.62, while teammate Jason Nonis recorded a personal-best time of 1:14.79.

Natalie Naranjo added a 17th-place finish in the women's 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:42.40.

In the men's 100 breaststroke, Jason Nonis set another personal-best with a time of 1:24.49, while teammate Sian Caceres finished in 1:31.38.

In the men's 200 freestyle, Ethan Gregory and Benjamin Johnston finished back-to-back in 15th and 16th place with times of 2:13.10 and 2:15.24, respectively.

Morrison Villa competed in the men's 200 backstroke, finishing 12th overall with a time of 2:24.79. Villa also recorded a personal-best time of 1:05.39 in the men's 100 backstroke.

In the women's 400 IM, Natalie Naranjo placed ninth overall with a time of 6:51.31.

Cadence Simental posted a time of 1:54.99 in the women's 100 freestyle. In the men's 100 freestyle, Trace Faskell placed 11th overall with a time of 55.71, while Iam Gregory, Jason Nonis, and Sian Caceres finished 21st, 22nd, and 23rd with times of 1:06.24, 1:10.50, and 1:15.78, respectively.

The Owls' men's 400 freestyle relay team closed out the meet with a 10th-place finish, posting a time of 3:49.60.

Citrus will return to competition at WSC Meet No. 3, hosted by Santa Monica College, on Friday, March 27.
