Owls Post Multiple Personal Bests at WSC No. 3

Citrus College swimming competed at the Western State Conference (WSC) No. 3 meet, hosted by Santa Monica College at the Santa Monica Swim Center on Friday, March 27.

In the men's 400 medley relay, the Owls placed sixth overall with a time of 4:32.09.

In the men's 200 backstroke, Morrison Villa placed seventh with a time of 2:25.71.

In the women's 100 freestyle, Mackenzie Aguilar finished 15th with a time of 1:09.39, while Cadence Simental recorded a personal-best 1:53.34.

In the men's 100 freestyle, Ethan Gregory turned in a standout performance with a personal-best 52.75 to finish fourth overall. Trace Faskell placed eighth at 55.86, while Iam Gregory (17th, 1:05.75) and Sian Caceres (19th, 1:11.70) also posted personal-best times.

In the men's 200 breaststroke, Jason Nonis finished 10th with a time of 3:01.14.

In the 400 freestyle relay, Citrus' "A" team placed fourth with a time of 3:46.31, while the "B" team finished seventh at 4:49.74.

In the women's 50 freestyle, Aguilar placed 12th with a time of 30.47, while Simental clocked a 50.33.

In the men's 50 freestyle, Gregory led the way with a sixth-place finish at 23.87. Faskell placed 12th (25.66), while Iam Gregory (19th, 28.56) and Caceres (22nd, 32.61) both recorded personal-best times.

Aguilar also competed in the women's 200 individual medley, finishing eighth with a time of 3:01.77.

In the men's 200 individual medley, Benjamin Johnston placed 10th (2:44.59), followed by teammate Noah Guzman in 11th (3:08.83).

Up next, Citrus will compete at the Western State Conference Championships, hosted by LA Valley from April 16-18.
