Citrus College Women's Volleyball earned their first win of the season on Friday night defeating LA Pierce College in straight sets (25-17, 25-21, 25-19).
The Owls move to 1-5 on the season while LA Pierce College fall to 1-6 on the season.
Citrus College started set one with plenty of energy as they went up 10-3 with kills coming from Tara Biscan and McKenna Cooper. Lauren Wesley added a service ace to end the set 25-17.
Alexia Avalos kept the momentum going to start the second set with well-placed serves to put the owls up 4-0. Kills by Georgia Walls, Danielle Erlandson and McKenna Cooper sealed a 25-21 second set win.
The Brahmas were able to keep the third set close until the Owls went on a seven-point run with service aces from Alexia Avalos and kills by McKenna Cooper and Danielle Erlandson. Citrus earned the third set win 25-19 to win their first game of the season.
The Owls were led by McKenna Cooper who recorded 10 kills. Tara Biscan and Danielle Erlandson both recorded six kills. Isabel Luna recorded 10 digs and two service aces, Alexia Avalos recorded four service aces and Raegen Johnson led the team with 12 assists while adding two kills and three service aces.
Citrus College will travel to Cuesta College this Wednesday, September 25th for a 6:00 p.m. game.
