Owls Fall in First Conference Game Against Cougars
The Citrus College Women's Volleyball team hosted College of the Canyons in their first conference matchup of the season. The Owls ended up losing in four sets (14-25, 25-14, 17-25, 17-25).
The Owls move to 1-8 on the season while the Cougars improve to 6-7 overall this season.
After losing the first set, the Owls earned a dominant 25-14 second set win behind multiple kills from both Danielle Erlandson and McKenna Cooper while Raegen Johnson added a service ace and Aaliyah Astilla added a kill.
The Owls were unable to win another set but competed hard to keep the third and fourth sets close.
Citrus College was led by McKenna Cooper who had a team high of 16 kills and added four service aces and six digs. Danielle Erlandson recorded six kills and was in on two block assists. Alexia Avalos led the Owls with 10 digs followed by Isabel Luna with seven while Raegen Johnson led the team with 20 assists.
Citrus College will look to get back in the win column as they travel to Antelope Valley College tomorrow, Friday, October 4th for a matchup with the Marauders at 6 p.m.
