Bio

Assistant Citrus College Women's Water Polo Coach Ian Davidson begins his first season with the Owls in 2016. Davidson comes to the Owls with a decorated resume at all levels of the water polo community. 

Most recently, Davidson heads to Citrus after serving as an assistant coach for the Men's and Women's Water Polo programs at CCCAA member San Diego Mesa College. Davidson spent seven seasons on the men's bench and three on the women's. While with the men's program, Davidson helped lead the Olympians to a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Championship in 2010. In 2014 the women finished in 5th place at the CCCAA Southern California Championships, before breaking through in 2015 by winning the CCCAA State Championships in Pasadena.

During his time with San Diego Mesa, Davidson also served as an assistant coach with the boys and girls varsity team's at The Bishops Schools. In that time the girls team won five consecutive CIF Championships, and the boys won one.

In addition to his extensive collegiate and high school resume, Davidson has also been active on the club scene, working for 12 years with the San Diego Shores Water Polo Club and serving as the Women's Program Director. More recently, Davidson moved to locally renowned Rose Bowl Water Polo Club where he serves as the Men's Head Coach.

More recently, Davidson has become involved with USA Water Polo. Beginning in 2015, Davidson began serving as the Coastal Zone Chair, and in 2016 he took over as the Coastal Zone Head Coach.

Davidson prepped at The Bishops School, helping his alma mater win three-straight CIF Championships. After that, Davidson matriculated to Whittier College where he played for three seasons. Davidson holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Psychology, and resides in Pasadena with his wife Nicki.
