Owls Post Multiple Personal Records at WSC Championships
Citrus College Cross Country competed in the Western State Conference Championships on Friday, October 24, at Arroyo Vista Community Park in Moorpark, CA.
In the Women's 5K, freshman Berenice Godinez placed 68th overall in the event.
On the men's side, the Owls placed 10th overall in the 4-mile race with a team score of 290 points. Sophomore David Evangelista led the way for Citrus, running a personal-best 22:24.9 to finish 38th overall. Freshman Juan Esteva also set a new personal record, finishing 68th with a time of 25:04.1. Louis Amador followed in 72nd place at 25:33.4, while Jonathan Evangelista clocked 26:53.9 to finish 81st. Jacob Flores rounded out the scoring for the Owls, placing 92nd with a time of 29:31.3.
Citrus College will now await official results to see if any athletes have qualified for the Southern California Championships, scheduled for Friday, November 7, at NTC Park in San Diego.
