Glendora, CA -- Citrus College sophomore John "JT" Roach and Chaunce Hill became the first two Citrus College Men's Basketball players to sign scholarship offers over the past week. Both will be headed to NCAA DII institutions next year as Roach will be suiting up for Concordia University in Irvine and Hill at Eastern New Mexico University.

Roach played two seasons for the Owls, appearing in all 52 games between the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons. As a freshman Roach averaged 6.8 points per game while shooting 33.6% from beyond the 3-point arc. As a sophomore Roach improved on both totals leading the Owls in scoring (13.1 ppg) and converting 36.2% of his three-point attempts. Roach scored a career high 25 points in the Owls final home game of the season, a 85-74 victory over LA Valley.

"I chose Concordia because they have a winning history. I've gotten to know the coaching staff and team, and they're a good group of guys. I'm looking forward to playing with them," Roach said. "Citrus has helped develop my game. I've gotten stronger, and my shot has gotten better. It's allowed me the chance to adjust the level past high school, and it's gotten me prepared to join the four-year level."

Hill played one season for the Owls joining Citrus as a sophomore this past year after playing his freshman season at Odessa College in Texas. Hill was an electric big man for Citrus, appearing in 22 games, averaging 6.1 points, a team high 6.3 boards per game, and a team leading 1.9 blocks per game. Hill recorded four double-doubles on the season, including an 11 points 17 rebound effort to kick-off conference play at Santa Monica.

"They [Eastern New Mexico] showed me the most love out of all the schools. They made me feel like I had the best chance of succeeding both on and off the floor on their campus," Hill said. "Citrus has helped me socially, academically, and physically. It's given me a lot of confidence on the basketball court and in the classroom. I appreciate all the help and growth the coaching staff has provided me."

"I am very proud of both JT and Chaunce," said Citrus College Head Men's Basketball Coach Chris Victor. "They are both moving on to great programs and I am looking forward to following their success over the next couple of years."
