Owls Stay Perfect in Conference With 115-83 Win Over Glendale

No. 3-ranked Citrus College Men's Basketball rolled past Glendale College 115–83 at home on Wednesday night, January 28, extending its winning streak to 15 games and recording its 14th contest this season scoring 100 or more points.

With the victory, the Owls improved to 20–1 overall and remained perfect in conference play at 7–0.

Citrus jumped out to a 12–1 lead three minutes into the game, but Glendale responded to briefly take the advantage midway through the first half. After three lead changes, the Owls seized control and carried a 53–34 lead into halftime.

The Owls shot 18-of-38 (47.4%) from the field in the opening half, went 2-of-10 from three-point range, and converted 15-of-18 free throws. Citrus' defense forced 12 first-half turnovers, while Leo Ricketts led all scorers with 19 points. Rockwell Reynolds added 11 points and eight rebounds before the break.

Citrus pulled away in the second half, stretching its lead to as many as 37 points with under seven minutes remaining. The Owls shot 20-of-39 from the field and 6-of-14 from beyond the arc after halftime, while forcing 13 additional Glendale turnovers.

Reynolds paced Citrus with 13 second-half points as the Owls cruised to the conference home win.

Citrus shot 49.4% (38-of-77) from the field compared to Glendale's 35.0% (28-of-80) and held a significant edge from beyond the arc, hitting 8-of-24 (33.3%) while the Vaqueros went 2-of-18 (11.1%). The Owls also won the battle in the paint (56–46) and on the fastbreak (16–6), while dishing out 24 assists to Glendale's 14. Citrus forced 26 Glendale turnovers, converting them into 25 points, and finished with a narrow rebounding advantage (49–47).

Both teams scored 11 second-chance points, while Citrus went 31-of-41 (75.6%) from the free-throw line and Glendale shot 83.3% (25-of-30).

Rockwell Reynolds delivered a dominant all-around performance with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and six blocks, while Leo Ricketts added 23 points, shooting 8-of-14 from the field and 6-of-6 at the free-throw line, while also handing out seven assists and three steals. The Owls received strong guard play from JJ Sanchez, who posted 10 points, six rebounds, four steals, and three assists, and Amiri Meadows, who finished with 10 points, seven assists, and two steals. Dev Hamilton contributed eight points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Off the bench, Alek Sanchez scored 10 points and added two steals, while Ian Salmon and Dylan Victorio each chipped in six points, with Salmon recording one steal.
